Google Now just popped up a notification on my smartphone telling me the travel time to Provision Health & Wellness. Apparently it's because I searched for Provision Health Alliance from my desktop computer for a post I made a few minutes ago.

(It's 28 minutes, by the way, with light traffic on Alcoa Highway and no delays. There's also a little map.)

Creepy

Google creeped me out a few months ago when a Google search contained a personalized section centered around my Twitter account, with the question "Is this you?" next to the results. There is nothing in my Google account that even mentions Twitter, much less RussM.

How'd they do that?

It's called "Google Now."

It's called "Google Now." Good feature, especially in larger cities. Can feel a big big-brother-ish. Check out the Google Now page (link...).

The Google surveillance of my online activity across devices is a little creepy, though. But like they say, what are you worried about if you have nothing to hide?
