McCain says..."while he will

McCain says..."while he will support the Republican nominee, he couldn’t campaign against Lieberman, whom he calls a close friend and a 'great American.'"

Is it that much of a stretch to accept the fact that McCain and Liberman ARE close friends? Or is it, POLITICS BABY...FRIENDSHIPS BE DAMNED!!
