Mayor unveils new County website
New site easier to use, offers more transparency

Knoxville, Tenn. — Knox County has a new website that is easier to navigate and helps ensure openness and transparency, County Mayor Tim Burchett announced Thursday.

“More and more people are using the Internet to do business and to get information, and ensuring that Knox County has a website that is helpful and easy to use is a good way to increase openness and restore trust in county government,” Mayor Burchett said.

The new website was rolled out Thursday by the Knox County Information Technology Department. The site’s transparency tools include an addition to the recently-released purchasing database that allows user to search for purchasing orders online.

“Our IT staff has done a great job of building a high-service, efficient Web site,” Mayor Burchett said. “I want the public to know that Knox County Government continues to try to increase transparency and service.”

The new site can be viewed at (link...).

Good looking site.

Clicking around, I found it odd that the sheriff's office has a complete listing of all its inmates.
