Cloudy skies and cold weather didn't stop anyone from coming out to the Maryville Christmas Parade in downtown Maryville today. According to the paper there were over 160 entries in the parade, and folks from all over lined the parade route. Here are some snapshots...

Apparently it is tradition

Apparently it is tradition in Maryville for the parade participants to throw candy to the crowd. You can see in one picture where one parade participant took it further and was throwing bean bag chairs. Made you sort of think of WKRP and the turkeys from the helicopter. Incoming!

The parade was great! Lots of smiles.

My favorite was the poodle sleigh. Except for, of course, the marching bands.

I liked Snoopy!

Then I admit I had reason to like that golf cart the best.  I am still so cold my fingers barely work but my very favorite part of the parade was running into lots of friends.

Great stuff

I did like the shot of the horse's ass with the Blount County Mayor sign.

I'd vote for the reindeer poodles if I actually had a vote.

Not your everyday Xmas parade

the horse's ass with the Blount County Mayor sign

Plus a float of someone on an ambulance gurney, Confederate soldiers, and Santa being carried by a garbage truck!  Great shots, as always.
