It's Fat Tuesday!
Mardi Gras costume suggestions from The Times-Picayune:
Friends and family can throw on their most threadbare clothing, for instance, and go as the economic recession. Or dress as Wall Street bankers carrying buckets for a bailout.
Happy day to all!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!
For those of usinz' from East Tennessee it is pronounced.............
"Lay Bon' Ton' Rulay"
Enjoy Fat Tuesday!.............and for those who party the day away before 'Lent'.........
What are you giving up? I am thinking of chocolate.....or maybe cig's or both.....Look over your shoulder for the wild woman with an awful look in her eyes for the next few weeks. And.... I am hoping my son will give up online video games. We will see what happens......and when the National Deficit is solid and in the green........well.......figure it out....sit on the sidewalk with me and my chalk ...painting a picture of our future with my bucket beside me expecting my bailout. See you in the bread line!
What are you giving up?
I'm a Protestant. Several hundred years ago, my ancestors decided to give up Roman Catholicism for Lent, and I'm continuing the tradition.
(Actually, until I moved to Maryland, I'm not even sure if I heard of the concept of giving something up for Lent. However, I did not do what some people unaccustomed to Catholicism have done, and told a Catholic co-worker on Ash Wednesday, "hey, you have something on your forehead.")
Voting is like driving. If you want to go backwards, select R. If you want to go forward, select D.
"hey, you have something on
"hey, you have something on your forehead."
I actually did that one time. And I'm married to a Catholic.
(My excuse is that we had just moved to Florida and it was my first exposure to diversity in the workplace and whatnot.)
