A graduate student and I are doing some survey research on local television news, so let me encourage you to take our survey linked below.

We know web surveys do not meet strict criteria for random sampling, but we are hoping for a large number of responses from a good cross-section of people, using a "snowball" technique.

That's a long way of saying, "Please feel free to forward the survey link to other persons and groups in the greater Knoxville area."

trouble with survey

Any chance you could provide a text box for "other" answers? I didn't finish the survey because I was giving a very false impression with my answers. For example, the *only* reason I watch a particular news show rather than another is because it's the only one airing in the time slot.

I had the same problem

The questions did not offer enough "other" answers, nor allow for things like never watching TV news but instead reading three or more local TV news websites daily. I too had to stop taking the survey because nearly every answer I could give would have been inaccurate or misleading.
