here's the 3am amendment that passed with it
Bonus
Apparently, a guy who gets a lot of credit for pushing for some "crucial equity provisions" that showed up in the last minute amendment is none other than Gandhi reincarnate. So, I guess I'd like to thank Gandhi from Jackson, Tennessee for finally cramming some jobs in this still unborn beast.
A new era of leadership is
That's pretty damn funny.
This goofy boondoggle will be shot down like a rabid steer in the Senate. Hopefully.
My dear liberal
My dear liberal friends:
Good grief, people. Are you so blinded by fealty to your beloved Obamassiah that you have taken leave of your God given gifts of logic and reason? Is it not obvious to you that global warming is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated since Men on the Moon? Just look around. Do you see any missing polar bears? Of course not. Modern science proves beyond any doubt that there are cycles, and we are merely in one. Trust me, I know a thing or two about gaseous emissions. This, too, will pass. As for this pernicious piece of legislation, it is nothing more than a hollow wooden horse, crafted by carpenters of deception, rolled up to the steps of the Capitol with little tax men inside, waiting patiently to catch us sleeping so they can jump out and throw open the gates of the Treasury to the Marxist hordes hiding in the weeds of public hysteria fertilized by the liberal media. As for your hero god Al Gore, I say beware of geeks bearing grifts!
Yours presciently,
I. J. Reilly

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
I.J. Reilly, it's my God
I.J. Reilly, it's my God given gifts of logic and reason that make me excited and proud that we have taken steps to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
Let your logic and reason explore these websites:
Breathing Earth birth/death rate with CO2 emissions
CO2 emissions by country
Wikipedia (the US is responsible for 20-22% of the world's carbon emissions)
Each Country's Share of CO2 Emissions
Guardian, World carbon emissions, by country
Whether or not we are in a natural cycle of the Earth, our carbon emissions are off the charts.

Nothing conservative about Republican stance on energy
387 parts per million is not part of the good Lord's design. It was 275 for all of human history until the industrial revolution. This is very simple and should be part of the creationist conservative fundamentalist platform. Please bring this number back below 350 for Jesus and stop being so LIBERAL about letting companies and governments shit where I eat.
Strong stuff
387 parts per million is not part of the good Lord's design. It was 275 for all of human history until the industrial revolution.
I see. A change of 112 parts per MILLION has doomed the planet.
PER MILLION. Not per thousand. Not per hundred.
Yet the massive star in the middle of the Solar system contributes no change at all?
Nice theory to create the next financial depression with. So when people can't afford to heat or cool their homes what do you suggest?
This is the most regressive tax in the history of man. Brought to us by the people who allegedly care about poor people.
Request, stop helping. You're doing it wrong.
Ah the sun argument. Did you
Ah the sun argument. Did you know the physicists who wrote the paper about solar influence that idiots like you cite have repudiated the use of their research as a "refutation" of global warming? No, you didn't.
Anyhow, here's the refutation, updated.
Have fun. It has lots of numbers and words, so I advise taking a nap to prevent Cranius Digititis Seizure Syndrome.
Notice it says "increased absorption" not "increased solar radiation." Key difference. It's the difference between knowledge and whatever it is that you have.

Global warming...
is a delightful topic. You can pretty much believe whatever you want and find plenty of support for your position whatever it is. I always agree with whoever I am talking with.
Shorter JWB: I don't
Shorter JWB: I don't understand it, so it must be wrong.
True happiness is knowing you are a hypocrite. -- Ivor Cutler
Seppuku is in a way the ultimate awful libertarian act -- Frank Popper
Katrina/Enron/Blackwater admin. apologists go for some odd humor
Then you also agree there is no scientific basis for global warming not happening? Can you point to any peer reviewed papers showing it's not? On the other side, however, it's a landslide that increasingly shows the problem to be far worse than previously thought and directly connected to burning fossil fuels.
However, this bill doesn't need be justified on the basis of GW. It's needed to jump start technology for transitioning away for limited and nonrenewable energy sources, transforming our economy for sustainable growth, and weaning us off the foreign oil we're so dependent on.
But since you bring it up, the Department of Defense way back early in Duhbya's first reign of errors identified global warming as the biggest long term threat to America's national security. Why do you hate America?
It won't pass the senate...
dems are afraid of repubs taking advantage if energy prices go up...
Obama shouldn't be ignoring that concern/possibility....
