The other day I got a mosquito bite on my hand that developed into swelling and a little pain/tenderness. Just sitting on my back porch drinking a cup of coffee. A couple of years back, twice in two different years, I got spider bites that required a visit to the doctor.

I just can't handle it.

Whitescreek has a possible solution for ticks and maybe mosquitos.
What about spiders?!?!

DEET when I step outside then wash up when I return to the safety of indoors. It's not fun being allergic to the outdoors.

We recently tried this Repel

We recently tried this Repel with Lemon Eucalyptus. The first time I used it, I thought it was just too oily. The next time it seemed a lot less objectionable and even seemed soothing as if to cool me off a little in the hot sun. Can't say how well it works on bug control, but I think it helps.

We've used it

Works well for no-seeums and mosquitoes. Ticks, not so much.

A bit more pleasant than DEET but lacking the lip tingles of a good DEET spray.

Then there is the question,

Then there is the question, what do you put on first? Sunscreen or bug repellent?
