Leave it to the R's to come up with such misplaced reasoning

The idea (and reality) of massive public funding for these rich sports teams' owners has always stuck in my craw. Too bad this jughead is suddenly motivated by peaceful protest to take a closer look at it.

Most cities in Tennessee went that route, but not Knoxville

Knoxville spend $182 million on a convention center that continue to lose money, continues to fail to attract the caliber of trade shows and meetings that it was designed to draw, while downtown sports venues in Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis serve as a catalyst for downtown redevelopment, inclusive of for profit businesses, not just rehabbed residential and not for profit that seems to be about all the Knoxville can draw these days.
