A house exploded in Blount County killing the two occupants. The cause was determined to be by an accidental propane leak.

Eight years ago a house in West Knoxville exploded killing a young man and injuring his parents. The cause was determined to be by a natural gas leak.

A year or so ago I noticed the ground wire for our gas line was disconnected. I called the gas company and they came out and fixed it.

How do you protect yourself from gas leaks and issues with gas connections (natural or propane)? Should you have your gas lines inspected regularly? Who do you call? In the instance of the West Knoxville explosion, KUB was found to be negligent. Don't know if they were able to appeal the findings.
