Goforth Creek is a lovely little creekside hike in the Ocoee gorge. It just made the Southern Environmental Law Center's Top 10 Endangered Places in the South, because the creek, and the trail, will be devastated if TDOT gets to blast a new road through the Cherokee forest to replace US64/74 in the Ocoee gorge.

Before Haslam eliminated the TN Conservation Commission...

We had an in depth presentation on this by some business folks out of Cleveland. They were unable to demonstrate any economic reason to do cut a new road through one of the large intact wilderness areas in SE TN. it all came down to emotion and a couple of development interests who wanted to make a killing as a result of tax payer funded new road construction to open up development on Lake Appalachia.

It's a rip off.
