These forums use a standard

These forums use a standard set of guidelines for candidates, moderators, volunteers, and the audience.

These so-called forums have moved to a non-participatory format where moderators select and read written questions. There's a difference between having someone select and read your question and being able to ask it with your own voice.

IMPORTANT UPDATE about the candidate forum

The South Knoxville Alliance/League of Women Voters Knoxville/Knox County 1st District Candidate forum will now be a virtual format.

Because the COVID numbers have risen to the point of placing us in the area of high transmission, Church Street Methodist Church - where the forum was to take place - has cancelled all non-church events until further notice.

The forum will still take place and has been changed to a live stream event from the Blount Mansion Visitor Center. NOTE: there will be no live audience. All questions have been selected from questions submitted via an online form that was distributed in July to the community and South Knoxville businesses.

Please use the following link to access the new South Knoxville Alliance YouTube channel where the event video will be available shortly before the forum begins.

The forum will begin at 6:00 tomorrow night (August 5). Alan Williams will be the moderator.
