This guy was arrested in Massachusetts after shooting three black people, two fatally. He said he went on a rampage to kill as many non-whites as possible the day after the inauguration. Police say he spent hours "educating himself" on white supremacist websites. View the full report here.

Yeah, but now Archie and
Yeah, but now Archie and Edith have to see it up close and personal on the CNN.
You think hate groups are
You think hate groups are the only ones using President Obama's inauguration as a "recruiting tool?"
Not sure I follow. I don't
Not sure I follow. I don't recall anyone saying hate groups are the "only ones." But who are the others?
Not surprised about the racist
Unfortunately, the story about the white supremacist wannabe is not a surprise. Everyone probably knows at least one angry, fat, white guy a case of Milwaukee's Best away from pulling that kind of stunt.
What does amaze me is that CNN is showing stretched 4:3 video in a 16:9 window on their website. Is there any plausible explanation for that?
Is there any plausible
Is there any plausible explanation for that?
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they still produce some stuff in 4:3 and they haven't figured out how to box it on the web?
I don't get CNN in HD so I don't know. And that's another mystery to me. We can get the Weather Channel in HD. Who needs that?
We were just talking about
We were just talking about Weather HD yesterday. We also get one of the shopping channels in HD. I have a hard time believing there is a strong demand for either.
At least for the shopping
At least for the shopping channels, I believe the shopping networks pay Commucast or whoever to carry them. Demand don't figure into it; ComCast makes money just by carrying them.
As far as HD Weather Channel goes... yeah, who cares about the local forecast in high def, but I know people who would really love high def tornado videos.

Not sure I follow. I don't
I'll just say this, and I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, if you look out on the ocean from the shore the first thing you notice and are aware of, and for some it's the only thing they notice, are the waves.
But that's not usually where the greatest threat or danger is. The greatest danger are the currents you can't see.
The face of a real terrorist
This is the face of a real terrorist.
Hate crime is terrorism.
Didn't the guy from Texas who had the cache of arms, munitions, and a large cyanide bomb have a "safe house" here in Knoxville? Another terrorist that will never be charged as such because the "Southern Strategy" doesn't allow for prosecuting them under those conditions. Wouldn't be prudent. Just "good old boys" having a little fun. Nothing more than fraternity hazing pranks, just ask their leader Rushbo.
"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
Charges as Terrorists
Heck, I've often wondered why Eric Rudolph wasn't charged as a terrorist for the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing and his other bombings. Politically motivated violence, killls people, sounds like a terrorist to me. (And there were rumors some of the locals in North Carolina helped hide him before he was arrested. Why were there no "aiding and abetting" charges?
For that matter, didn't some student from the fundamentalist whackjob Crown College in Powell torch the dirty bookstore on Clinton Highway a few years ago? Admittedly, as I remember, he went inside and told the occupants his plans, and advised them to leave, but that still seems like a terrorist act.
I submit if they were Muslims rather than Christians, there would be no doubt that they'd be charged as terrorists.

Just as bad as ELF, which
Just as bad as ELF, which commits property crimes for political reasons, but no frothing wingnut Congressmen scream about property crimes for right-wing political reasons. To them, one's terrorism that threatens the very fabric of suburban sprawl, and the other's mild and misguided.
Liberty and justice for all.
