Are there awards for various categories of spin?

Has any research ever been done on the economic impact of time, money, of making things seem like they aren't? There must be some data somewhere.

The sun came up. No it did not. I am looking at it. No you aren't.

From Yahoo News …

Much of China has been suffering through choking smog in recent weeks, which has hampered daily activities and forced the closure of schools. In response, the government published a list of reasons documenting the benefits of smog. Yes, benefits.

A Time magazine translator indicated that Global Times offered up the following rationalizations for smog:

1. It unifies the Chinese people.
2. It makes China more equal.
3. It raises citizen awareness of the cost of China’s economic development.
4. It makes people funnier.
5. It makes people more knowledgeable (of things like meteorology and the English word haze).

See no evil

My concern is that they'll do all the known things that will pull the smog out and leave mostly just all the odorless, colorless CO2. Which is the scariest part for the entire world.

Whew! Gasp!

And a lot of this murderous methane comes from a large Rottie lying at my feet at this very moment.

Yep, and all the methane from

Yep, and all the methane from renegade fracking. And loss of carbon sinks as places like rainforests get clear cut for stupid stuff like palm oil farms.

Bad news for the climate is pretty much endless. At least if there were no way to remove smog from coal burning, China might be forced to stop burning coal altogether in order to clear their air. But they could just scrub it while continuing to push the climate over the edge. And probably will.

How come?

How come there aren't mandatory recovery systems for liquid methane from fuel tanks. The technology appears to be in its infancy and they just bleed the tanks into the atmosphere when there is a problem that requires bleeding them. Many of us are thinking that this can't be a good thing. Plus, I have a sore throat that is really a sore back of the roof of my mouth. Does anyone know if exposure to methane is dangerous?
