2004 taught us to view this numbers with a high level of caution, but several of those leads are fairly solid.
Anyone see anything from Maryland?
Brian A.
I'd rather be cycling.
53-46 Carden in Maryland
53-46 Carden in Maryland from the Huffington Post and other blogs whose numbers match the ones above.
Early exit polls
Have they re-configured their statistical demographic modeling in the past two years, or is this basically the same crap as they did in 2004?
Brian A.
I'd rather be cycling.
Probably the same crap. I
Probably the same crap. I did read a long blog on pollster.com today that they are taking into account early voting this time and hiring older interviewers because elderly voters didn't want to be interviewed by youthful workers.
Hate to tell you this, but
Hate to tell you this, but judging from one precinct we visited Republicans are not nearly as apathetic as we thought/hoped. There seems to be a huge GOTV against well, I won't say anything else except these folks didn't look like HFJ voters or Will and Grace fans. If you know any Democrats who haven't voted, get them to the polls in the next hour and a half.
Yeah, but both of the Alcoa
Yeah, but both of the Alcoa precincts look pretty good for HFJ and maybe even Will and Grace.

Heh. No, but the angry stares after seeing my JR. bumper stickers did.
I admire your guts for
I admire your guts for infiltrating enemy territory. Job well done, but next time you should go incognito, duct tape the jr sticker. What am I saying? Forget the duct tape, forget incognito, put a ford sign on the side of your car and go proudly.
Adrift in the Sea of Humility
I think those are real polls
I think those are real polls not exit polls. The New Republic site has the second round of exit polls (they say anyway) and now has it 50-50 in TN.
lol, I linked there from
lol, I linked there from Talking Points Memo.
I should add that those
I should add that those numbers at New Republic don't look right. They had Dems ahead by huge margins in New Jersey (17 points) and I think Rhode Island (11 points) and I think those will be closer. I should probably stop reading the exit polls now before I get my hopes up too much.
Ignore New Republic numbers.
Ignore New Republic numbers. They have changed them to match CNN and those Andy posted in the first post.
1) I still don't trust
1) I still don't trust exit polls, in spite of the fact that folks have worked hard to improve them this year.
2) Exit polls don't take into account early voting - so they don't mean squat for us here in Tennessee, where approximately half the folks voted early.
Good point. I hope early
Good point. I hope early voters were motivated voters. Motivated DEMOCRAT voters.
