Follow-up to Don't disenfranchise me!:

After a growing buzz online and on the streets, FL Dems have mixed feelings on the DNC proposal of caucuses as a resolution to the delegate debacle from our primary. While the FL Chair says no, I have been contacted by more than one grassroots organizer seeking support for a push for caucuses here. If FL delegates are to be seated, the DNC appears to be signaling that caucuses are the only way.

I couldn't agree more.

UPDATE: Florida Kossacks writes "Let's amend our delegate selection plan to allocate our delegates based on a caucus to be held in early April."

Pollster.com is reporting that a new(11/4) Rasmussen poll of likely voters, which gives us a better snapshot than the Mason-Dixon of registered voters, has Ford is at 47% and Corker is at 51%.

This is a notable difference from the Mason-Dixon registered voters poll, where Corker is up by 12.

Governor Bredesen spent the afternoon campaigning with Schree Pettigrew, our candidate for House District 18. The day ended with a nice cup of soup (...I had ice cream) at a little shop in the Cedar Bluff neighborhood. Thanks to everyone who came out to support Pettigrew and Gov. Bredesen!

Schree Pettigrew has been running a great campaign against Stacey Campfield. She has obviously learned from the mistakes republican Drinnen made in the primary. Drinnen didn't talk about Campfield or his record --Schree is.

While I am no fan of all negative, all the time, this is a very affective approach on the part of Pettigrew. Taking Campfield to task on this and other things is part of what will win this race for Pettigrew.

After watching the video, Campfield would have us believe that Eatherly just leased a house from him.

1) The house that Eatherly was registered at was Campfields primary residence in District 18.

2) Either Campfield is telling the truth about the sex offender and he lived outside of the district he was elected to represent or

3) the sex offender lived under the same roof as Campfield.

For those who say that Campfield was just trying to help in a Christian way, Campfield had this to say: "I can't have that. And I kicked him out." ...only when the story was being reported in the media.

Furthermore, why did the two share another address previously? It should also be asked how much Mr. Eatherly helped when campaigning with Campfield during the last election.

It dominates the weekend news cycle all across the state; Today, Ford's "taking Corker to the mattresses" over Iraq hits the Situation Room in the much valued 4pm time slot. Ford also steals the cover of Newsweek.

Saturday:More on this Story from WVLT. This was absolutely a smart idea. All weekend, media outlets across the state have been talking about this toe to toe with the short man; CNN even had the confrontation video on their front page for most of the day. There were all talking about THIS instead of what Corker's press conference was about.

WMCTV Complete Story on YouTube

WMCTV moved the video!

UPDATE: WMCTV moved the video here....

wmctv.com:
News reporters were surprised when Ford's tour bus pulled up at the event and, apparently staff at Wilson Air were surprised as well, as they tried to steer media inside the property for the Corker news conference.

Corker instead, opted to come out and talk with Ford directly while the cameras were rolling. What followed was a tense confrontation between the two, caught on tape!

VolunteerVoters has more with links to more press on the confrontation.

In closing...as Corker whines for his microphone, lets re-listen to an interview Ford gave G Reynolds earlier this year. Then rewatch the video. You have Bobby "This is my press conference" Corker whining about "family matters" which is a stark contrast to Ford sharing informed ideas and thought on Iraq, energy and politics.

The League of Women Voters held their candidate forum today. Candidates from other local house seats attended, along with Schree Pettigrew who is running for the 18th district. Campfield, the Republican incumbent and Schree's opponent, was invited and reportedly confirmed with a tentative response that he may come.

He didn't. Again, missing the chance to debate Pettigrew before a live group of voters.

No one can ding Campfield for not showing, he didn't say for sure he was coming. BUT, given the results of the last debate, one would think he would be beating down the doors to debate Schree before a live audience of voters.

So not only has Campfield avoided the first scheduled debate by claiming confusion and trickery, he altogether dismissed the chance to discuss the issues with Pettigrew at the League of Women Voters candidate forum.

If he wasn't interested in the debate, why he would post this on his blog:

Just FYI I am open to a makeup debate with my opponent/opponents almost any time previous to early voting. Just call when you feel froggy. Nuff said.

I guess debating in front of College kids is different than doing the same in front of constituent voters.

sorry for the double post, was editing when bill posted! SORRY BILL!

State Rep. Stacey Campfield has long said he wouldn't accept PAC (Political Action Committee) contributions; he just posted it again on his website blogspot account.

So, has he accepted PAC cash? Lets take a look and see.

Not directly. Instead, The Tennessee Republican Caucus continues to redirect tens of thousands of dollars in PAC contributions to Campfield. Here are the numbers up to the end of the last reporting period:

State Rep. Kelsey - $100 on 7-2-2006
State Rep. Casada - $250 on 5-1-2006
State Rep. Clem - $500 on 6-30-2006
State Sen. Beavers - $1000 on 6-28-2006
State Sen. Beavers - $1000 on 9-29-2006
State Rep. Dunn - $100 on 6-29-2006
State Rep. Dunn - $500 on 9-27-2006
State Rep. Dunn - $1000 on 9-27-2006
State Rep. Davis - $500 on 6-5-2006
Tennessee House Republicans Caucus - $5384 on 9-28-2006
Tennessee House Republicans Caucus - $5850 on 9-25-2006
Tennessee House Republicans Caucus - $5384 on 9-25-2006

Each and everyone one of these Republican contributors took PAC Cash and then gave a contribution to Stacey Campfield. Campfield is claiming he hasn't taken any, and he has. He is claiming this PAC FREE status so he can appear 'above it' when debating the issue with Pettigrew, who has been successful in funding her campaign to beat Campfield.

In truth, Stacey Campfield is deceiving people about not accepting PAC cash. This list shows that there was a concerted effort to get that PAC cash to him. I think we'll coin a new term for him: PAC-CASH-by-proxy. Yeah, it is a mental illness, you know, like munchausen.

It is time to stop Stacey Campfield.

The two candidates for the 18th House District will be on The Voice, WLLZ 1180AM/WKCE 1120AM tomorrow from 9-10 am. Listen Live here. Call in your questions during the show to 865-546-2148.

The UT College Republicans and College Democrats set up a debate between State Representative Stacy Campfield and challenger candidate Schree Pettigrew that was supposed to be today at 7:00 p.m.

I left at 7:30, and Rep. Campfield hadn't arrived. The buzz around the room was that he had a last minute scheduling conflict. Eh, it happens I guess.

Personally, I think he didn't want to get whipped again. His ego was surely bruised from the WATE Gene Patterson interview. Or, perhaps he thought this fellow was going to be a panelist? Who knows. In the end (at 7:30, for me) he was no where to be seen. Curiously, neither were the College Republicans.

I noticed a couple pretty decent reporters there (you know who you are); maybe they'll be writing on this as well.

Update: corrected Mr. Patterson's name

From 7-8pm in room 32 of the Alumni Memorial Building, the College Democrats and College Republicans will be co-sponsoring a debate between Campfield and Pettigrew.

This should certainly be an interesting debate!
