"A unanimous vote by the Blount County Commission Agenda Committee on Tuesday sent Blackberry’s rezoning request for more than 5,000 acres of its properties back to the Planning Commission."
...
“If you need 40 acres, I don’t understand why you would need 2,000 more,” county Commissioner Shawn Carter said.
...
Blackberry Director of Development Matt Smith said, “There’s no hard feelings on any of this,” he said. “When the election is over, we’ll still be here. I’ll still answer the phone.”

I guess he's blaming this on Kathleen Puckett’s campaign for the Blount County Commission. She opposes the zoning request and has made it an issue in her campaign. She held a town hall meeting and made the request known to the citizens of the area. Good for her.
